Talk:Installing a PPTP-VPN server on a Raspberry Pi

This page needs to be rewritten because PPTP is not safe anymore anno 2015, rewriting it to OpenVPN on a Raspberry Pi is preferred.

I agree with the above, but why would we want this info in this wiki.

It has nothing to do with domoticz specific. The setup guide for debian should work on the rpi at least if you are running raspbian or equivalent, so no need to duplicate information here. Downside to keep this in here is that the page would need to be maintained, also to be complete you need setup guides for the other OS's were domoticz runs on. Conclusion: IMHO pointing out that it is a good thing to setup a vpn server (openvpn or L2TP/IPSec) for remote access should be enough and delete this page.

I set up a VPN server following this how-to : [1]. It works like a charm. I could copy it citing the source. Would it be ok?

--ThinkPad (talk) 10:57, 22 December 2015 (CET) I agree that it can be deleted, if a user uses Google on how to setup a VPN server on <insert device> he could probably find a more recent guide. I have marked the page for deletion.
